Defending Champions Paris St Germain laboured to a 5-4 victory against Bayern Munich in a pulsating Champions League Semi-final first leg on Tuesday.

Both teams known for their attacking potency lived up to expectations as a total of nine goals were scored in the game played at the Parc des Princes in Paris.

The host and defending Champions came from behind to lead 2-1 after goals from Kvaratskelia and Joao Neves cancelled Harry Kane’s 17th-minute penalty.

Bayern’s in-form winger, Michael Olise, put Bayern level with a beautiful solo strike in the 41st minute before Ousmane Dembele restored the host’s lead with a penalty just before half time

It looked all set for the French side when they scored twice in two minutes through Kvaratskelia and Dembele to go 5-2 up in the 58th minute, but Bayern refused to go down completely.

Two goals from Dayot Upamecano and Luiz Diaz reduced the margin for the German side and increased their chances for the return leg in Munich.

The winner will face Arsenal or Atletico Madrid, who play in the semi-final on Wednesday, in the final in Budapest, Bulgaria
