U.S. President Donald Trump has announced plans to impose a travel ban on 43 countries, according to an internal memo reviewed by Reuters.
The countries are divided into three categories: red, orange, and yellow. The red list includes nations like Afghanistan, Iran, and North Korea, whose nationals will be banned from entering the U.S.
The orange group consists of 10 countries, including Russia and Myanmar, where visa restrictions will be sharply tightened.
Meanwhile, the yellow group, which includes countries such as Angola, Benin, and Zimbabwe, has been given 60 days to address concerns before further actions are considered.
While the full list is still under review, the countries affected by the ban have sparked controversy. Several key African nations, including Nigeria, South Africa, Algeria, and Egypt, have been notably excluded from the proposed restrictions.
As stated in the memo, “The list of countries is still subject to approval by the Trump administration,” with officials indicating that changes could still occur. This proposal is part of the broader immigration crackdown launched at the start of Trump’s second term.
