President Donald Trump is meeting with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer at the White House. The two are expected to discuss the war in Ukraine, defense spending and the president’s proposed tariffs.
Trump said this morning that 25% tariffs on goods imported from Canada and Mexico would go into effect Tuesday unless more is done to stop the flow of fentanyl into the United States. The president also said reciprocal tariffs would go into effect April 2.
Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy are close to a final agreement on Ukraine’s provision of rare-earth minerals to the U.S. in return for security guarantees. Trump said earlier this week that he will likely meet with Zelenskyy on Friday.
