Tinubu Celebrates Fashola’s Wife on 60th Birthday

- 6 April 2025

President Bola Tinubu has extended heartfelt congratulations to Dame Emmanuella Abimbola Fashola, the former First Lady of Lagos State, on her 60th birthday.

In a statement issued on April 6, Tinubu praised Dame Fashola for her significant contributions to public awareness, particularly in the areas of women’s and children’s health.

“Dame Fashola is devoted to her family, seeing it as a priority and a haven for growth and development,” Tinubu said. He also acknowledged her pivotal role in supporting her husband, Babatunde Fashola, during his tenure as the Governor of Lagos State and as Minister of Works and Housing.

The President emphasized her role as a “steadfast pillar of support,” highlighting her leadership of the Committee of Wives of Lagos State Officials, where she was instrumental in launching initiatives such as recreational centers and supporting breast and cervical cancer screenings for women.

Tinubu further noted the importance of her marriage as an example of unity and religious tolerance, with Fashola being a devout Christian and her husband a Muslim. He described their relationship as a powerful symbol of understanding, which is essential for nation-building.

“Her initiatives have notably included the inauguration of recreation centres and support for the screening and treatment of women with breast and cervical cancers,” Tinubu added.
