Vice-President Kashim Shettima has said the Federal Government’s economic reforms are designed to attract investments, strengthen businesses and improve Nigeria’s productive capacity.
Shettima made this known at the Dukes Masterclass on Penetrative Leadership in Abuja, where he was represented by the Special Adviser to the President on Economic Affairs, Tope Fasua.
He said the removal of fuel subsidy, foreign exchange reforms, changes to the country’s fiscal structure and improved revenue mobilisation were necessary steps towards building a stronger economy.
According to him, the reforms are intended to create an environment that supports business growth, encourages investors and expands economic opportunities.
The Vice-President, however, stressed the need for the government to communicate its policies more effectively and show Nigerians the results of its economic decisions.
He noted that citizens needed to understand the reasons behind the reforms and see evidence of progress in their daily lives.
Also speaking at the event, Otunba Bimbo Ashiru emphasised the importance of effective communication in ensuring that government policies are understood and supported by the public.
