President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Friday arrived in Lagos following a three-nation diplomatic and investment-focused trip to France, Kenya, and Rwanda.
The President’s aircraft touched down at about 7:12 p.m. at the Presidential Wing of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Ikeja, where he was received by top government officials, including Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Deputy Governor Femi Hamzat, Chief of Staff to the President Femi Gbajabiamila, and Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly Mudashiru Obasa.
During his visit to France, President Tinubu met with global investors, where he highlighted his administration’s economic reforms, stressing transparency and fiscal discipline as key pillars of Nigeria’s economic direction.
The President also attended the Africa Forward Summit in Nairobi, Kenya, co-hosted by Emmanuel Macron and William Ruto. At the summit, Tinubu called for reforms to the global financial system and advocated stronger African economic integration to drive the continent’s growth.
He further promoted Nigeria’s blue economy potential and pledged to share the country’s maritime intelligence infrastructure with interested Gulf of Guinea nations.
While in Nairobi, President Tinubu held a bilateral meeting with Madagascan President Michael Randrianirina.
In Kigali, Rwanda, the Nigerian leader participated in the Africa CEO Forum alongside African heads of state, investors, and business executives to discuss strategies for accelerating Africa’s economic transformation through regional integration and cross-border investments.
Tinubu also met with Paul Kagame and held talks with representatives of multinational organisations and companies, including the International Finance Corporation, APM Terminals, and the Winme Group.
According to the Presidency, the meetings produced favourable outcomes, while discussions at the forum also focused on Nigeria’s ongoing economic reform agenda.
President Tinubu is expected to remain in Lagos to participate in the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary elections scheduled to begin on Saturday.
Ahead of the primaries, the President urged party members and participants to maintain peace and uphold sportsmanship in the interest of the party and the country.
