Show Proof or Resign, Ex-NAPAC Chair Tells Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan

The immediate past Chairman of the Nigerian-American Public Affairs Committee (NAPAC), Mr. Ike Chidolue, has called on Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan to back her explosive claims with evidence or step down from her position in the Senate.

Chidolue’s statement comes after Akpoti-Uduaghan, the suspended senator representing Kogi Central, accused Senate President Godswill Akpabio and former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello of plotting to kill her.

Reacting to her allegations, Chidolue urged the senator to produce “credible evidence” or vacate her seat.

“Her post offered no facts, no forensics, and certainly no credibility,” Chidolue said in a statement issued Sunday in Abuja.

“What it does offer, unfortunately, is a continuation of a now-familiar pattern: sensational allegations, quickly recycled into conspiracy claims once confronted with inconvenient evidence.”

Akpoti-Uduaghan recently dismissed a viral Facebook Live broadcast by U.S.-based activist Dr. Sandra Duru—also known as Prof. Mgbeke—which featured audio recordings and screenshots that appeared to contradict her public statements.

The senator described the materials as “manipulated” and “politically motivated.”

However, Chidolue insisted the senator has not presented any verifiable documentation to support her claims, including allegations of sexual harassment by Akpabio, an assassination plot by Bello, and accusations involving the death of a minor in 2021.

“Not one of these claims has been substantiated by a police report, sworn affidavit, Senate resolution, or authenticated document,” Chidolue stressed.

He proposed a four-step plan to restore public trust: independent forensic verification of the recordings, submission of supporting documents such as police or court reports, legal action if she was defamed, or resignation if no evidence is produced.

“The time for storytelling has expired,” he declared. “The burden is now hers: evidence or exit.”
