Saudi Arabia has officially confirmed the sighting of the crescent moon, marking the end of Ramadan and the beginning of the Islamic month of Shawwal. As a result, Eid al-Fitr will be celebrated on Sunday, March 30, 2025.
The announcement was made on the official Haramin Facebook page, a key platform for the global Muslim community.
“The crescent moon for the month of Shawwal 1446 was sighted in Saudi Arabia. Therefore, Eid al-Fitr will be celebrated on Sunday, March 30, 2025,” the post read.
This announcement comes after days of anticipation during the final days of Ramadan, with Muslims around the world eagerly awaiting confirmation of the moon’s sighting.
