Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has extended warm birthday wishes to former governor Ayodele Fayose, who turned 65 on Friday, describing him as a figure whose imprint on the state remains significant.

In a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Yinka Oyebode, Oyebanji highlighted Fayose’s years in office as a period marked by bold initiatives and strong engagement with grassroots communities. He noted that the former governor’s ability to connect with ordinary citizens earned him a firm place in Ekiti’s political history.

According to Oyebanji, Ekiti’s development trajectory cannot be fully told without acknowledging Fayose’s role in expanding infrastructure, revitalising urban areas, supporting local businesses, and creating opportunities for the less privileged.

The governor also commended Fayose for his continued cooperation and encouragement, despite belonging to the opposition. He said the former governor’s willingness to prioritise the state’s progress above partisan interests was commendable and reflective of true statesmanship.

Oyebanji added that Fayose’s outspoken nature and dedication to the state’s welfare have kept him influential long after leaving office.
