The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Osun State, Bola Oyebamiji, has expressed confidence in winning the ongoing governorship election after casting his ballot in Ikire.

Oyebamiji voted at Ward 09, Unit 011, in Irewole Local Government Area at about 10:42am on Saturday.

He was welcomed by cheers from voters at the polling unit before proceeding to cast his vote.

Speaking to journalists afterwards, Oyebamiji said reports from across the state indicated that the election was progressing peacefully.

“I expect that I am going to have the victory at the end of the day,” he said.

The APC candidate also said the voting process at his polling unit was orderly, with officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), security personnel and voters present.

He expressed hope that the peaceful conduct would continue until the conclusion of the election.
