The Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL) has accused the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) of carrying out a midnight raid on its premises in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

In a statement on Sunday, the library’s management described the operation as “illegal and shameful,” claiming EFCC officials stormed the facility without proper notice or a court warrant. They alleged that staff were harassed during the incident, which they say happened in the early hours of Saturday.

According to OOPL, the EFCC’s actions damaged the organisation’s reputation and violated its rights. Management said it has instructed lawyers to take legal action against the anti-graft agency to “hold them accountable.”

The EFCC has not yet responded to the allegations.

The Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, founded by Nigeria’s former president in 2017, houses historical records, archives, and cultural collections documenting the country’s history and Obasanjo’s legacy.
