Senior officials from Nigeria and the European Union (EU) will meet in Abuja on Tuesday, July 1, and Wednesday, July 2, 2025. The talks are being organized by the EU Delegation to Nigeria and ECOWAS as part of preparations for an upcoming Nigeria-EU Ministerial meeting.
The discussions will be co-chaired by Ambassador Janet Olisa, Director of Regions at Nigeria’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Mr. Mathieu Briens, Deputy Managing Director for Africa at the European External Action Service.
The agenda includes a wide range of topics, including regional and multilateral cooperation, peace and security, governance, humanitarian issues, trade, investment, health, education, and social protection.
Nigeria and the EU maintain a strong and enduring partnership rooted in shared values, mutual interests, and a commitment to a rules-based international order. The upcoming dialogue is expected to strengthen this relationship further.
