Football journalist, Adepoju Tobi Samuel quoting the Super Eagles media officer wrote, “The Super Eagles are camped at Rive Hotel. What trended earlier was the view of an old building that can be seen from a window.

“Rive was chosen because of its proximity to the team’s training facility and the stadium here in Rabat.”

This clarification comes hours after midfielder Alex Iwobi shared images highlighting the poor state and surroundings of the Super Eagles’ accommodation in Morocco.

His post prompted concerns about the welfare and preparation standards of the Nigerian national team ahead of their crucial playoff clash against Gabon on Thursday.

Nigeria booked their place in the playoff round after finishing second behind South Africa in Group C.

The Super Eagles will face Gabon in the playoff semi-final, with the winner advancing to play either DR Congo or Cameroon in the final.

The ultimate winner will secure a spot in the intercontinental playoffs scheduled for March 2026, where a ticket to the FIFA World Cup in the USA, Canada, and Mexico will be at stake.
