The Defence Headquarters has disclosed that its official X account was targeted in an unauthorised access attempt.

The Director of Defence Information, Maj Gen Samaila Uba, said the incident was being handled as a cybersecurity matter, with technical measures activated to protect the account.

He said efforts were ongoing to regain full control of the platform and prevent further unauthorised access.

The DHQ also warned the public to ignore any suspicious or misleading posts that may appear on the account during the period.

The military urged Nigerians and the media to rely on its verified Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp Channel for official information until the issue is resolved.

The Defence Headquarters assured the public that it would continue to provide updates as efforts to secure the account progress.
