Pop star Ariana Grande has asked the White House to stop using her song in a social media video linked to immigration enforcement actions.

The dispute began after the White House shared a short clip on TikTok showing federal agents carrying out arrests, with Grande’s 2024 track “Bye” used as the background music.

Grande reacted publicly, saying her music should not be associated with what she described as harmful or unacceptable content. Her team has also reportedly requested that the song be removed from the video.

The White House defended the post, arguing that its immigration enforcement efforts target individuals it says have committed crimes, and insisted the actions are aimed at public safety.

The incident adds to a growing pattern of artists objecting to government use of their music in politically sensitive or enforcement-related content shared on social media platforms.
