Dangote Industries Limited has issued a stern warning to truck operators illegally branding their vehicles with the company’s logo, saying the practice continues to damage its image.
The conglomerate explained that despite several notices in the past, many privately owned trucks still move around under the Dangote identity. According to the company, these vehicles—often not linked in any way to its operations—have been involved in road mishaps that are then wrongly attributed to the group.
In response, Dangote said it is stepping up surveillance and will collaborate with security agencies to clamp down on offenders. Legal measures, it stressed, will also be pursued against those who persist in using the name or logo without authorization.
The company further raised alarm about the spread of false reports online, where some individuals have allegedly tried to connect unrelated accidents to its trucks for malicious or financial reasons. It urged the public and the media to cross-check information before publication to prevent misleading narratives.
Dangote emphasized that its trucks are properly branded and documented, and warned that the unlawful use of its corporate identity will no longer be tolerated.
