Dangote Refinery has announced a reduction in the price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), also known as petrol, from N990 to N970 per litre for marketers in commemoration of the yuletide season

The price cut, which was unveiled by the company on Sunday, is part of a broader effort to appreciate Nigerians and express gratitude for the support of the Bola Tinubu administration in bringing the Dangote Refinery’s 650,000-barrel-per-day capacity to fruition.

In a statement issued by the company’s Chief Branding and Communications Officer, Anthony Chiejina, Dangote Refinery emphasized that this reduction is a token of appreciation for both the Nigerian people and the government for their backing.

“As the year comes to an end, this is our way of appreciating the good people of Nigeria for their unwavering support in making the refinery a dream come true.

In addition, this is to thank the government for their support as this will complement the measures put in place to encourage domestic enterprise for our collective well-being,” the statement read.

The refinery also reassured the public that it would not compromise on the quality of its products, ensuring that they remain environmentally friendly and sustainable.

Furthermore, Dangote Refinery committed to ramping up its production levels to meet and exceed Nigeria’s domestic fuel consumption, helping to prevent potential shortages in the future.

“With the support of our Nigerian partners and government, we are determined to keep ramping up production to meet and surpass our domestic fuel consumption, thus dispelling any fear of a shortfall in supply,” the company stated.

This price reduction is seen as a timely gesture in light of the festive season, offering some financial relief for Nigerians amid ongoing economic challenges
