China and Egypt have commenced a new round of joint air force training as the two countries deepen defence cooperation.

The exercise, known as “Eagles of Civilization 2026,” is being held in Egypt from mid-August to early September. It is the second edition of the bilateral military exercise, following the first training programme conducted last year.

China’s Ministry of National Defense said the drills will cover several areas of air warfare, including combat tactics, air superiority missions and search-and-rescue operations.

The participating forces will also conduct joint deployment exercises aimed at improving coordination and operational effectiveness between the two air forces.

A spokesperson for China’s Ministry of National Defense, Chen Xi, said the latest exercise is expected to strengthen mutual trust and military cooperation between Beijing and Cairo.

According to the ministry, the training will also build on the longstanding relationship between the two countries while contributing to regional peace and stability.

The latest drills come as China and Egypt continue to expand their military relationship through joint exercises and other strategic engagements.
