The Acting Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, on Wednesday returned to the state.
Aiyedatiwa arrived in the state shortly after the House of Assembly confirmed the receipt of a letter from Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu transmitting power to him.
The acting governor, who landed at Akure Airport in a commercial airline, was received by a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, and Director of Corporate Affairs, Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Ifedayo Abegunde.
Recall that the absence of the governor had resulted in heightened political tension in the state, with calls that power should be transmitted to Aiyedatiwa in line with constitutional provisions.
