Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, and the All Progressives Congress have celebrated the state’s First Lady, Prof. Olayemi Oyebanji, as she marks her birthday.

The governor praised his wife for her love, encouragement and support, describing her as an important source of strength in his life.

In a birthday message released on Sunday by his Chief Press Secretary, Olayinka Oyebode, in Ado Ekiti, the governor expressed gratitude for her kindness, resilience and commitment to their family.

He also prayed for God’s continued blessings, greater opportunities, happiness and fulfilment in the years ahead.

The Ekiti State chapter of the APC also joined in the celebration, describing the First Lady as a woman distinguished by humility, compassion, academic excellence and dedication to public service.

In a statement titled, ‘Happy Birthday to Our Baoress, Prof. Olayemi Oyebanji,’ the party’s Publicity Secretary, Segun Dipe, highlighted her contributions to education and humanitarian activities across the state.

The party noted that before becoming First Lady, Olayemi had spent more than two decades in academia, teaching at Ekiti State University and the University of Ibadan.

It also commended her initiatives, including the Widows, Aged, Orphans and Homeless Hope project, which provides support to vulnerable groups, and the Girls for Safer Space Fellowship, aimed at promoting the confidence and safety of female students in tertiary institutions.

The APC further highlighted her Back-to-School Project, through which more than 10,000 children in Ekiti State have received school bags, books and other educational materials.

The party described her contributions as beneficial to education, social welfare and the development of young people in the state.

In October 2026, the First Lady received further recognition from the state APC and the State Universal Basic Education Board following her promotion to the rank of professor by the University of Ibadan.
