Primate Elijah Ayodele, leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has delivered a strong warning to Peter Obi, urging the former Anambra governor not to run for the 2027 presidency without building a coalition.
According to Ayodele, challenging President Bola Tinubu alone would be a “waste of resources” and lead to inevitable political failure.
In a statement shared by his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, Ayodele emphasized that Tinubu’s political strength is too formidable for any single candidate to overcome.
He urged Obi to reconsider his strategy. “If Peter Obi feels like he has the magic wand to pull the crowd together, he won’t be able to remove Tinubu,” Ayodele asserted. “Don’t waste your money at all if you don’t want to be politically miserable.”
Ayodele went further, expressing concerns about Obi being misled by those around him and warned that his own ethnic group might not fully back him this time.
“Even the Igbos won’t be with you this time. People you believe are still supporting you will disappoint you,” Ayodele claimed, adding that betrayal could come from unexpected quarters.
As political maneuvering intensifies in the lead-up to 2027, Ayodele’s remarks shine a light on the difficult choices Obi faces in trying to challenge an entrenched political figure like Tinubu.
