The Dangote Refinery has ramped up fuel distribution, with over 1,000 trucks now loading petrol from the facility daily.
The increase follows strategic changes, including a reduction in the Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) price to N699 per litre and a drop in the minimum purchase volume from two million litres to 250,000 litres.
“These steps show our commitment to stabilizing supply, promoting inclusivity, and supporting national economic growth,” the refinery said in a statement.
To further reassure marketers, Dangote Refinery introduced a 10-day bank guarantee system, ensuring uninterrupted fuel supply and boosting confidence in its operations.
Aliko Dangote, President of the Dangote Group, emphasized that the refinery aims to make energy accessible and affordable to all Nigerians. He said lowering barriers to entry allows both large and small marketers to participate in the market, strengthening distribution networks and improving fuel availability across the country.
The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) has encouraged its members to buy PMS from Dangote Refinery, citing competitive pricing. Free delivery is expected to start in January 2026.
Dangote also reiterated that the refinery project is driven by legacy and national interest rather than profit, noting he could have invested $20 billion elsewhere if financial gain were the only goal.
