WHEN YOU NEED LOVE
TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.* 1 John 4:8 (NIV)
TODAY’S WORD
We all desire love in our lives and at times we crave for love, we crave to be loved or we crave for someone to just love on us.
Our scripture for today say’s to us that God is love. The bible also teaches in 1 Corinthians 13:13 that, Three things will last forever—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these is love.* Love is indeed real and we know that the totality of the Christian faith is based on the love of God.
We also read further in *Jeremiah 31:3 that, Long ago the LORD said to Israel: “I have loved you, my people, with an everlasting love. With unfailing love I have drawn you to myself. God is love and God loves us endlessly. That is settled.
So why do we feel unloved at times and desire love so to be loved so strongly even when we know that God loves us?
Indeed, the simple answer will be well, that’s just the way the human DNA is designed. Our scripture for today however adds a little twist and a secret ingredient. To experience love, we must express, show and give love, God’s love to others. Talk about, give and it shall come back to you, good measure, pressed down, shaken together, well, love operates that same way. The more you give love, the more love will always love will always come back to us.
PRAYER FOR TODAY
Father Almighty God, You are indeed love and You have loved us with an everlasting love. Father, oftentimes we crave to be loved to be loved upon, but we come to you this morning, asking O Lord, that You grant us the grace to show Your love to others, that as we show love, we will feel loved and we will be loved. Thank You Heavenly Father
In Jesus name. Amen
