Nigerian singer Anthony Ebuka Victor, known as Victony, has shared that he continues to endure severe leg pain following a series of surgeries, nearly four years after his near-fatal car crash in 2021.
In a recent interview with Chude Jideonwo, the 23-year-old artist revealed that despite undergoing four surgeries, he is still struggling with persistent pain and is scheduled for a fifth procedure. “My leg still hurts. I am still going to do another surgery. I’m living it. I have just accepted that experience,” Victony stated.
The accident, which tragically claimed one life and left three others injured, kept Victony in a wheelchair for about a year. He was also in a coma for several days. “It’s what is making me who I am today. That’s my story. I don’t want to happily identify with it but it’s part of my story,” he said.
Victony also spoke candidly about the emotional toll the incident took on him, admitting that he initially struggled with “survival guilt” after learning of the fatality but eventually came to terms with it.
Despite the ongoing challenges, Victony remains focused on his music career, drawing strength from his painful journey.
