A United States congressman, Riley Moore, has said Washington will closely observe Nigeria’s 2027 general election, including the conduct of the electoral process.

Moore made the remarks during an interview with Noire TV, where he was asked about the upcoming Nigerian election and whether the United States could play any role in supporting the country’s democratic process.

Responding, the lawmaker said the US would pay close attention to how the election is organised and conducted.

According to him, both the outcome of the polls and the integrity of the electoral process will be under observation.

He added that he and the US administration would carefully monitor developments surrounding the election to assess how the process unfolds and is implemented.

Nigeria is expected to hold its next general election in 2027, with political parties already intensifying preparations ahead of the polls.
