Former United States, US, president, Donald Trump, has said the policies of President Joe Biden is killing Americans.
Trump said Biden has done a poor job in managing the US economy, stressing that the inflation rate is disastrous.
He stated this during the US presidential debate hosted by CNN in Atlanta, Georgia, the early hours of Friday.
The former president said the rising prices and the cost of living have become key issues ahead of November’s presidential election.
According to Trump: “He has not done a good job. He’s done a poor job.
“And inflation is killing our country. It is absolutely killing us.
“I gave him a country with essentially no inflation. It was perfect. It was so good, all he had to do was leave it alone. He destroyed it.”
The US Federal Reserve hiked its key lending rate from almost zero to a two-decade high of between 5.25 and 5.50 percent — where it has remained for the past year.
Higher interest rates cool down the economy by raising borrowing costs for consumers and businesses, indirectly impacting everything from mortgage rates to auto loans.
