The United States has condemned the deadly attack on Naridon village in Kaduna State, where at least 30 people, including children, were killed, and urged the Federal Government to tackle the ongoing violence in the Middle Belt.

In a statement on Saturday, the US State Department’s Bureau of African Affairs expressed condolences to the victims’ families and called on Nigerian authorities to address the persistent attacks on Christian communities in the region.

The attack occurred in Kauru Local Government Area, where gunmen stormed the village, killed residents and set homes and shops on fire.

Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani condemned the killings, ordered security agencies to pursue the attackers, and directed the State Emergency Management Agency to support affected families.

Reacting to the incident, ADC presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar called for an overhaul of Nigeria’s security system, saying the government must do more to protect citizens.
