Veteran Nollywood actor Jide Kosoko has spoken out about the issue of sexual exploitation within the Nigerian film industry, urging aspiring actors to stay true to their values.

In a recent appearance on the Honest Bunch podcast, Kosoko emphasized the importance of self-respect and dignity.

He discouraged young actors from compromising their integrity in exchange for movie roles, stating that no one should feel pressured into unethical situations.

Kosoko firmly said, “If I say I need you to come warm my bed before I can give you a particular movie role and you say you don’t want, just go, they cannot force you to do that.”

He further highlighted the choices some individuals make, explaining that some actors may use such tactics to advance their careers.

“But if you want that role by all means… I know some ladies that come into the industry with determination that by the time I sleep with this person and that person I will get my name.”

While acknowledging that the film industry has its challenges, Kosoko called for aspiring actors to remain steadfast and resist temptations, encouraging them to prioritize their integrity above short-term fame.

His statement comes amid ongoing concerns about the darker side of Nollywood, and his message serves as a reminder to those entering the industry to navigate it with caution and a firm moral compass.
