According to a report by the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), the deportees consists of 90 females and 310 males.

The deported individuals were received at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja by various federal agencies, including the office of the National Security Adviser, the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants, and Internally Displaced Persons, the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), and other relevant stakeholders.

This follows a recent report, where 103 Nigerians were deported from the Republic of Turkey. These individuals were also received by NEMA and other federal agencies upon their arrival in Nigeria.

The 400 deportees from the UAE arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, on Friday at 7:00 p.m., via the pilgrims’ wing of the airport.

Federal government officials, led by NEMA personnel, were present to facilitate their arrival and ensure their welfare.

In a related incident, on November 13, 2023, 264 Nigerians had their visas canceled upon arrival at the King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

The Federal Government of Nigeria has urged calm in response to the recent deportations.
