President Bola Tinubu is scheduled to inaugurate the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council on October 14 as the party prepares for the 2027 general elections.
The ceremony will hold at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa in Abuja, bringing together party leaders and other stakeholders responsible for coordinating the president’s re-election campaign.
Former Zamfara State Governor Abdulaziz Yari, who serves as the campaign council’s Director-General, disclosed the plan after meeting with Tinubu at the State House on Friday.
Yari said the president had approved the campaign timetable, with the first rally scheduled to take place in Kaduna on October 24.
According to the programme, subsequent rallies will be held in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, and Maiduguri, the Borno State capital.
Meanwhile, the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has begun mobilising women across the country ahead of the campaign. The initiative is being coordinated alongside the council’s Director of Women Mobilisation, Dr Betta Edu, and other members of the team.
The mobilisation drive aims to secure support for the Tinubu-Shettima ticket through grassroots engagement and community outreach.
Edu and her team have set a target of reaching 40 million women voters across 176,846 communities and polling-unit structures in the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
The campaign team plans to use local networks and public engagement to communicate the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda 2.0 to women across the country.
The October 14 inauguration is expected to formalise the campaign council’s operations ahead of the Kaduna rally and subsequent campaign activities.
The APC’s preparations come as political parties begin organising their structures and mobilisation efforts for the 2027 presidential election.
