President Bola Tinubu has returned to Abuja after spending the Eid-el-Fitr holiday in Lagos, following his recent state visit to the United Kingdom.
The President departed Lagos on Wednesday evening from the Presidential Wing of the Murtala Mohammed International Airport at exactly 6:44 pm.
President Tinubu had earlier arrived in Nigeria from the United Kingdom in the early hours of Friday and joined Muslim faithful for Eid-el-Fitr prayers at Dodan Barracks in Lagos.
During his stay in Lagos, the President held a series of high-level engagements. He received 23 state governors, including Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji.
He also met with prominent business leader Aliko Dangote, an EU delegation, as well as members of the Lagos State Governance Advisory Council.
Vice President Kashim Shettima was also in Lagos, where he briefed the President on his recent visit to Borno State following a suicide bombing incident.
Several top political figures were present at the President’s residence for his departure, including Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun and former Ogun State Governor, Olusegun Osoba.
At the airport, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, his deputy Obafemi Hamzat, alongside senior government officials and party leaders, were on ground to see the President off.
