President Bola Tinubu has congratulated the founder and General Superintendent of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry, William Kumuyi, on his 85th birthday, describing him as a dedicated servant of God whose ministry has impacted millions of lives.
In a statement issued on Saturday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President praised Kumuyi’s unwavering commitment to the Christian faith and his role in building one of Nigeria’s most influential ministries over the past five decades.
Tinubu noted that through his teachings, writings and global evangelistic outreach, Kumuyi has inspired believers across Nigeria and beyond, bringing hope and spiritual guidance to many.
The President also commended the cleric’s contributions to strengthening families, raising leaders and nurturing generations of Christians through his ministry.
He prayed for God’s continued blessings on Kumuyi, asking for good health, peace and strength for the respected preacher.
Born on June 6, 1941, in Osun State, Kumuyi founded the Deeper Life Bible Church in 1973 while working as a mathematics lecturer at the University of Lagos. The ministry has since grown into one of Africa’s largest Pentecostal churches, with branches in more than 150 countries.
Kumuyi is widely regarded as one of the most influential voices in African Christianity, known for his emphasis on holiness, evangelism and disciplined Christian living.
