President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of a member of the House of Representatives representing Ikeja Federal Constituency, James Faleke as a member of the Governance Advisory Council (GAC).

Formerly known as the Governor’s Advisory Council, the GAC is the highest decision-making body within the Lagos State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Faleke, originally from Kogi State, had earned his way into the top echelon of the Lagos politics having previously served as the Chairman of Ikeja Local Government.

He had previously made unsuccessful attempt to become the Deputy Governor of Kogi State.

He is the coordinator of various political groups within the APC which led the election of President Tinubu in 2023.

He recently purchased the N100mllion re-election nomination forms for the President.

Faleke had also been consistent in organising massive empowerment initiatives for constituents in Ikeja Federal Constituency.

A member of the Justice Forum political group, Faleke is also a key figure in deciding who gets what within the APC particularly in Ikeja, Ojodu-Berger, Ifako-Ijaiye, Ojokoro, among others.

He was the first to direct his supporters in Ikeja to back the candidacy of the Deputy Governor, Dr Kadri Obafemi Hamzat for the 2027 Lagos governorship election.

Confirming his appointment as GAC member to his supporters, Faleke said: “Hello Our Brothers and sisters. I’m pleased to announce the President’s magnanimity for my Admission into the highest Political Decision making body of Lagos. THE GAC as a member.
