START WITH PRAYER
TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
For some days I mourned and fasted and prayed before the God of heaven. Then I said: “Lord, the God of heaven, the great and awesome God, who keeps his covenant of love with those who love him and keep his commandments, let your ear be attentive and your eyes open to hear the prayer your servant is praying before you day and night for your servants, the people of Israel. Nehemiah 1: 4-6(NIV)
TODAY’S WORD
You believe you’ve heard God’s voice concerning which way you should go and you are ready, willing and able. All of you is willing to do your utmost for God and that’s it, off you go.
Surely, dear co-sojourner on a closer walk with God, you need to take a few steps back. The first thing we must do is to seek God in the place of prayer concerning how we go about fulfilling what He will have us do.
Nehemiah believed He had a calling to rebuild the broken walls of Jerusalem, and he also knew God’s instruction to Moses concerning the children of Israel, however, the first thing he did was to seek God in the place of prayer as we find in our bible verses for today.
We read further in Nehemiah 1:11 that, he prayed asking, Lord, let your ear be attentive to the prayer of this your servant and to the prayer of your servants who delight in revering your name. Give your servant success today by granting him favor in the presence of this man.” I was cupbearer to the king.
Brethren, do not be in a hurry to go ahead of God, even if it is to fulfill His will, rather, seek God, go to Him in and God will direct your path, God will make a way where there seems to be no way, God will shut every contrary door that might be open and God will make you find favour with men and you will you favour with Him. In Jesus name. Glory be to God. Hallelujah.
PRAYER FOR TODAY
Father Almighty God we thank for revealing and showing us which way to go and what to do. Lord, we ask this morning that in fulfilling Your will, we come before You in the place of prayer and ask how we should proceed, that you might grant us the grace.
