Shareholders of major Nigerian companies, including Dangote Cement, BUA Cement, Lafarge, and Transcorp Power, are set to receive a total dividend payout of N633.95 billion for the 2024 financial year, a 2.65% increase from the previous year’s N654.1 billion.

Dangote Cement, the largest contributor, has declared a dividend of N30.00 per share, amounting to N506.21 billion.

This follows a profit increase of 10% from N455.6 billion in 2023 to N503.2 billion in 2024.

According to the company, “The dividends will be paid electronically on Monday, June 23, 2025, to shareholders registered by June 9, 2025.”

Similarly, BUA Cement is paying a total of N69.42 billion in dividends, marking a 2.5% increase from last year, while Transcorp Power has proposed a substantial N37.5 billion payout, up 59.8% from 2023.

Geregu Power and Lafarge also reported increased dividends, though Lafarge’s payout has decreased by 36.8%.

Investment banker Tajudeen Olayinka praised these companies for their resilience amid Nigeria’s economic challenges, stating, “The dividend payout should be commended, especially given the unstable macroeconomic environment.”
