TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
So if you are presenting a sacrifice at the altar in the Temple and you suddenly remember that someone has something against you, leave your sacrifice there at the altar. Go and be reconciled to that person. Then come and offer your sacrifice to God.* Matthew 5:23-24 (NLT)

TODAY’S. WORD
Today’s devotional is one that ordinarily should start with the African exclamation, Ewooooooo Jesus.

Yes, Jesus’ instructions to us is as clear as it can be. If you are in the process of presenting a sacrifice at the altar, and you suddenly remember someone has something against you, stop, go get reconciled with the person and come back and offer the sacrifice to God. Ewooooo.

This not about you forgiving someone who might have wronged you, it’s a totally different Christianity requiring a totally different level of grace. Where do we even start from? With the level of persons with one offense or another against us today, the sacrifice might just not not be offered for a long time.

Thank God however for the blood of Jesus. Still, 1 Samuel 15:22 teaches us that to obey God, is better than any sacrifice we may offer Him.

With obeying God as a premise for the conclusion of our devotional this morning, perhaps you have suddenly remembered someone who has something against you and you need to go and reconcile with that person before you conclude your sacrifice to God this morning. That alone in itself will be simple obedience to God and can be classified as a sacrifice to God.

PRAYER FOR TODAY
Heavenly Father, thank You for reconciling us with You every new morning through the breath of life You have blessed us with. Grant us O Lord the grace to obey Your word concerning reconciling with anyone who might have something against us. In Jesus name. Amen.
