The younger sister of former Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, and her two children have regained their freedom following a police operation in Oyo State.

The victims, identified as Olaide John-Paul and her 12-year-old twin sons, were rescued several days after they were abducted while travelling to school in Ibadan.

Security sources said investigators tracked the suspects to a location within the state after gathering intelligence on the vehicle allegedly used during the abduction. The operation led to a confrontation in which two suspected kidnappers were killed, while two others were arrested.

According to the source, the victims had been held at a hideout where some members of the gang were left to watch over them while others stayed elsewhere.

John-Paul and her children were reportedly abducted on June 3 after armed men intercepted them on their way to school.

Confirming the development, officials said all three victims were rescued unharmed and are in good condition.

A statement issued on behalf of Adelabu thanked the police, other security agencies, the media and supporters for their efforts and concern during the period of the abduction.

The Oyo State Police Command also confirmed the rescue, adding that further details about the operation would be made public as investigations continue.
