Former Anambra State Governor and National Democratic Congress presidential candidate, Peter Obi, was spotted shopping at an H-Medix Supermarket branch on Saturday.
The visit comes months after he was seen buying groundnuts at Utako Market in Abuja, an outing that attracted widespread attention on social media.
Photos from the supermarket visit were shared on X by Esther Umoh, who previously served as Obi’s campaign photographer during the 2023 presidential election.
According to Umoh, Obi visited the store to purchase a few personal items before taking time to interact with members of staff and other shoppers.
She said the visit reflected Obi’s effort to remain connected to the everyday experiences of Nigerians by personally encountering the prices of goods and the country’s current economic conditions.
Umoh added that the former Labour Party presidential candidate exchanged greetings with employees and customers during the visit, describing the interaction as an example of a leader staying close to the people.
Obi served as governor of Anambra State from 2006 to 2014. He contested the 2023 presidential election on the platform of the Labour Party and is currently the National Democratic Congress’ presidential candidate ahead of the 2027 election.
