Peter Obi and Seriake Dickson were present on Saturday at the national convention of the Nigeria Democratic Convention (NDC) held in Abuja.

The gathering took place at the Los Angeles Event Centre along Ahmadu Bello Way in the Federal Capital Territory, drawing party delegates and stakeholders from different parts of the country.

Their appearance at the convention comes shortly after both politicians attended a private political meeting hosted by Rabiu Kwankwaso in Abuja, a development that has fueled talks about emerging alliances ahead of the 2027 general election.

Obi and Dickson recently moved to the NDC from the African Democratic Congress, signaling a new phase in their political alignment. There is growing speculation within political circles that Obi and Kwankwaso could emerge as key figures for the party’s presidential ticket in 2027.

Party members at the convention described the event as part of ongoing efforts to reposition the NDC and strengthen its national structure in preparation for future elections.
