Samben Nwosu, a prominent leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Anambra, has formally resigned from the party, citing dissatisfaction with recent internal developments.
A founding member of the PDP, Nwosu made the announcement in a resignation letter sent to the Otolo Ward I secretariat in Nnewi, which was shared with the media in Awka on Friday.
In his letter, Nwosu explained that his decision was influenced by recent events that forced him to reevaluate his place within the party, despite his many years of service.
He emphasized the negative impact of what he described as unfair treatment and deliberate embarrassments orchestrated by certain political figures within the party.
He stated: “But recently a full swing has taken shape within the party, especially as it has to do with unfair treatment and orchestrated embarrassments by some political merchants within the party.
“The most popular of such embarrassments was the pseudo-signing of a suspension letter by an unknown organ of the party, without due process or proper notification to myself.
“The next senatorial election rerun is an opportunity to showcase to the people that a prepared mind is better than a monetised mind, and hence, my resignation.”
Nwosu, who served as a Federal Commissioner at the Public Complaints Commission, admitted that leaving the party was a difficult decision for him.
