Ohanaeze Ndigbo has strongly condemned former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi’s call for the use of force to remove President Bola Tinubu from office.

In a statement issued by the group’s President General, Okechukwu Isiguzoro, the socio-political organization expressed unwavering support for the Tinubu administration.

“We condemn in the strongest possible terms the reckless and incendiary comments made by Chibuike Amaechi against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” said Isiguzoro.

“Amaechi’s remark asking Nigerians to snatch power from the president is a threat to democracy.”

Isiguzoro further criticized Amaechi’s suggestion that politicians must be willing to “steal, maim, and kill” to retain power, calling it a dangerous attack on the nation’s political fabric.

“Amaechi’s equally disconcerting assertion that politicians must be willing to ‘steal, maim, and kill’ to retain power not only diminishes the dignity of our political discourse but also poses a dire threat to the very fabric of our society,” he stated.

The Ohanaeze leader emphasized the group’s commitment to peace, stability, and legitimate leadership in Nigeria.

“Our resolve is steadfast, as we remain committed to fostering peace, stability, and fruitful governance in Nigeria.”

Isiguzoro called on Amaechi to retract his “divisive comments” and reaffirmed that the Ndigbo stand firmly behind President Tinubu’s administration.

“Let it be said that the aspirations of the Igbo people align with a future predicated upon legitimate leadership, respect for democratic processes, and a shared vision for a prosperous Nigeria,” he concluded.
