Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun says the state’s economy has recorded massive growth under his administration, rising from about ₦3.5 trillion in 2019 to an estimated ₦16 trillion in 2025.

Abiodun disclosed this in Abeokuta while hosting executives of Mac Group, led by Strategic Adviser Fayad Fayad, who visited the governor’s office with a fresh pledge of investment worth between $1.8 billion and $2.5 billion.

The governor attributed the surge to deliberate policies focused on infrastructure, social amenities, and tourism development. According to him, key projects — including the revamp of the Olumo Rock tourist site — have turned into major revenue sources for the state. He noted that the historic landmark, which previously generated about ₦20 million annually, now earns the same amount every week following its renovation.

“We have become one of Nigeria’s most attractive investment destinations, with the fastest-growing economy in the country,” Abiodun said. “Our land, infrastructure, and human capital give us a clear edge, and we are open for even bigger opportunities.”

On their part, Mac Group executives praised the state’s economic vision and revealed plans for hospitality and leisure projects, including what they described as Africa’s first Disneyland-style resort. The development is expected to feature amusement parks, hotels, and water-based attractions.

“We are confident Ogun is the right place for this,” Fayad said. “With the state’s growth trajectory and leadership commitment, the sky is the limit.”

The governor assured the group of continued support, stressing that the state’s business-friendly environment would further encourage global investors to choose Ogun as their preferred hub for tourism and recreation.
