Popular Nollywood actor Ibrahim Chatta is mourning the death of his son. The actor, 54, shared the sad news with his followers on Instagram on Saturday, though he did not provide details about the circumstances surrounding his son’s passing.
Accompanying the post was a photo of his late son, along with a heartfelt message in which Chatta prayed for his child’s soul, writing, “Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un. Ya Allah, You are the Knower of all things. Rest on, Dear son, champ.”
Fans and fellow actors quickly flooded the comments section, offering condolences and words of support.
Tragically, this comes shortly after veteran actress Peju Ogunmola lost her only son, Ayomikun, in Ibadan. The two recent deaths have left the Nollywood community in deep mourning, with many expressing shock at the double tragedy.
Chatta has previously spoken about the loss of his first child, a daughter, years ago. He revealed that financial constraints and inadequate medical care prevented him from providing a proper burial, leading him to lay her to rest in a wooden Coca-Cola crate.
