Dahiru Buba, a 53-year-old man who walked for 15 days from Gombe to Abuja to celebrate President Muhammadu Buhari’s victory in the 2015 polls, has no regrets about his actions.
In an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria in Gombe on Tuesday, he praised President Buhari for his eight years in office, saying he has lived up to Nigerians’ expectations.
Buba described Buhari as a sincere leader who loves the country and has worked tirelessly to give his best for Nigeria.
He cited the administration’s handling of the Boko Haram insurgency and its resulting peace in his community and others as an example of Buhari’s success.
Buba acknowledged that it was not possible for the President to satisfy everyone, but he urged Nigerians to support President-elect Sen. Bola Tinubu.
Finally, he thanked Gov. Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State for the gift of a car and some cash in 2020 to appreciate him for trekking to celebrate Buhari’s victory in 2015 and congratulated Yahaya on his re-election victory.
