The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd) has reported a sharp increase in revenue for October 2025, earning N5.08 trillion, up from N4.27 trillion recorded in September. The company’s profit after tax (PAT) also rose significantly to N447 billion, compared to N216 billion the previous month, reflecting improved operational efficiency, favorable market conditions, and cost optimization measures.
Gas Production Drives Growth
NNPC Ltd’s natural gas production increased to 6,997 million standard cubic feet per day (mmscf/d) in October, up from 6,284 mmscf/d in September. Gas sales on an M-2 basis also rose to 4,713 mmscf/d from 3,443 mmscf/d, highlighting stronger supply to power plants, industries, and export terminals.
In contrast, crude oil production recorded a slight decline, falling to 1.58 million barrels per day (mmbopd) from 1.61 mmbopd the previous month.
Infrastructure and Maintenance Updates
The company reported progress on the Ajaokuta–Kaduna–Kano (AKK) Gas Pipeline, a key component of Nigeria’s gas infrastructure expansion. Additional resources have been deployed to fast-track construction, with mainline completion expected before the end of 2025.
NNPC Ltd also outlined maintenance plans for several key facilities, including Stardeep–Agbami, Esso–Erha, Renaissance–EA, and OML 42, scheduled for November and December. Production was temporarily moderated due to ongoing maintenance, delayed operations at WAEP (OML 71 & 72), and flooding incidents affecting wells in OML 143. Full production recovery is expected by mid-December.
Looking Ahead
NNPC Ltd continues to expand its investments in upstream operations, gas infrastructure, and clean energy projects, targeting sustainable growth over the next decade. The company aims to attract $60 billion in investments by 2030 through strategic partnerships designed to accelerate Africa’s energy transformation.
For the full year ended 2024, NNPC Ltd recorded a profit after tax of N5.4 trillion from total revenue of N45.1 trillion, signaling robust financial performance and operational strength.
