The Group Chief Executive Officer of NNPC Limited, Bayo Ojulari, has received a major international recognition after being admitted as a Fellow of the Energy Institute in the United Kingdom.

The fellowship was presented recently in London during International Energy Week, a high-level gathering of global energy leaders, policymakers, investors, and industry experts.

According to NNPC Limited, the honour is reserved for senior professionals who have made long-standing and high-impact contributions to the energy sector. The company described the recognition as a strong signal of growing global confidence in Nigeria’s energy reforms and leadership.

The fellowship was formally conferred by the President of the Energy Institute, Andy Brown, who praised Ojulari’s leadership in driving strategic reforms at NNPC Limited. He noted that the recognition reflects efforts to strengthen corporate governance, improve operational discipline, and reposition the company as a commercially viable and performance-driven enterprise.

Under Ojulari’s leadership, NNPC Limited has pursued investor-focused reforms, expanded international partnerships, and improved execution standards across its operations. These steps, the company said, are helping to rebuild trust and attract investment into Nigeria’s oil and gas sector.

NNPC Limited added that the fellowship goes beyond individual recognition, describing it as an endorsement of the company’s broader transformation agenda. The honour also places the company’s leadership at the centre of global discussions on energy security, sustainability, financing, and the ongoing energy transition.

The recognition comes at a time when the Federal Government is intensifying reforms to boost oil output, expand gas utilisation, and improve the commercial performance of NNPC Limited. Since the implementation of the Petroleum Industry Act, the company has introduced governance reforms, restructured operations, and engaged global investors to improve transparency and efficiency.

NNPC Limited said the fellowship further reinforces its image as a reform-oriented and investment-ready energy company, committed to strengthening Nigeria’s energy security and playing a key role in Africa’s energy future.
