The National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB) has extended the registration deadline for the 2026 National Common Entrance Examination into technical colleges nationwide.

The board announced that candidates now have until May 31 to complete their registration, while the examination earlier scheduled for June 6 has been moved to June 13.
This was disclosed in a statement issued in Benin City by NABTEB’s Assistant Director of Media and Protocol, Mr Uchechukwu Olisah.

According to the statement, the extension was approved by the Registrar and Chief Executive Officer of NABTEB, Dr Aminu Mohammed, following appeals from prospective candidates who requested more time to finalise their registration.

Olisah explained that the approval was communicated through an internal memo signed by the Director of Examinations Administration, Ms Chigoziem Metu.

He urged interested candidates to use the additional time to complete all registration requirements before the new closing date.

The registrar also encouraged students interested in technical and entrepreneurial education to participate in the examination, which serves as an entry route into technical colleges across Nigeria.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the National Common Entrance Examination is conducted annually for admission into federal and state technical colleges nationwide.
