MTN Nigeria Communications Plc has said its MoMo wallets will soon enable Nigerians in the diaspora to send money to any phone number in the nation.

The company disclosed this during the official launch of its fintech subsidiary, MoMo PSB Limited. According to the firm, the launch follows a successful pilot initiated on 16 May 2022.

It said its over 166,000 active agents and digitised partnership infrastructure would enable millions of unbanked and underserved Nigerians to access to a wide range of financial service products.

It also stated that it would continue to scale its agent network across the country in order to boost everyday payments by digitising cash payments.

In a statement on the Nigerian Exchange Group signed by the Company’s Secretary, Uto Ukpanah, MTN said, “By dialling *617# on any network, customers can open a MoMo wallet, send money to any phone number in the country and pay their bills.
