President Bola Tinubu has sent a heartfelt message to Nigeria’s Super Falcons as they prepare to face Morocco in the final of the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) tonight in Rabat.
In a personally signed statement, Tinubu praised the team’s remarkable journey through the tournament, highlighting their unbeaten record and strong defensive play. He described their performance as a source of pride for the entire country and urged them to give their all in the final match.
The President also commended the Falcons for showing compassion off the pitch—particularly when they visited injured South African player Gabriela Salgado. He said their gesture reflected the spirit of unity and kindness that Africans are known for.
To show Nigeria’s full support, Tinubu revealed that a special government delegation has been sent to Morocco. The team includes top officials such as the Ministers of Arts and Culture, Finance, Women Affairs, and the Chairman of the National Sports Commission.
He also expressed appreciation to the players’ families, coaches, Nigerian fans in Morocco, and the Supporters Club for standing behind the team from the start of the competition.
Reminding the Falcons of their perfect record in past WAFCON finals, Tinubu urged them to make history once again by winning a 10th title.
“You will finish strong by the grace of God. Bring the trophy home. Your fellow countrymen and women are rooting for you,” he said.
As the nation watches with hope, the Super Falcons stand just one win away from adding another chapter to their legacy.
