Former Lagos governorship candidate Abdul-Azeez Adediran, better known as Jandor, has declared that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stands no chance of winning elections in the state, now or in the future.
Jandor, who recently left the PDP for the All Progressives Congress (APC), made the statement on Saturday after casting his vote in the ongoing local government elections at his polling unit in Irewe, a riverine community in the Ojo area of Lagos.
According to him, PDP’s repeated losses in the state are rooted in its failure to build and maintain strong grassroots structures, unlike the APC, which he says has become a household name across Lagos communities.
“We came into PDP with fresh ideas and energy, but the party’s lack of visibility at the grassroots made it impossible to make any real impact,” Jandor said.
He noted that the APC’s dominance is not accidental but a result of years of building deep community ties and maintaining political presence at the local level.
“For anyone serious about development and leadership in Lagos, joining the APC is the logical step. That’s why people like me—and many of my followers—joined the party, to contribute to a winning structure,” he added.
Jandor stressed that he doesn’t see any political party unseating the APC in Lagos anytime soon, describing the ruling party’s grassroots reach as unshakable.
